Leys Estate was delighted to once again attend this year’s Banchory Show, welcoming hundreds of visitors to our stand and taking the opportunity to connect with members of the local community.

This year, our stand focused on wildfire awareness and countryside responsibility, topics that have become increasingly relevant following several wildfire incidents affecting Leys Estate in recent years. With recent wildfire activity across the Cairngorms bringing the issue into sharper focus, we felt it was important to help educate visitors on how small actions can make a big difference in protecting our local environment.

A particular highlight of the day was the support of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, whose team joined us on the stand to share their knowledge and experience. Throughout the day they engaged with visitors, answered questions, discussed wildfire prevention, and provided valuable advice on how everyone can help reduce the risk of fires in the countryside. Their contribution helped make our wildfire awareness campaign both informative and impactful.

Alongside wildfire education, visitors also had the opportunity to learn more about responsible countryside access, litter prevention, and the diverse range of activities and businesses that operate across Leys Estate.

Visitors to the stand were invited to guess the number of golf balls in the crate, raising money in support of our chosen charities of the year. Thanks to the generosity of showgoers who took part in our competition.
