Banchory Show Competition Winners Announced

Three visitors to this year’s Banchory Show have been announced as the lucky winners of a local estate’s competition.

During the show, visitors were encouraged to take part in the Leys Estate competition which tested people’s knowledge of activities and sectors which make up the estate.

Ian Edmonstone, who has been a tenant on the estate for over 40 years, was able to identify the most activities winning a tonne of firewood from Leys Estate Firewood.

Second place, receiving a £50 voucher for the Milton Art Gallery at Milton of Crathes, was Winnie and Bill Reid and taking third place and an Inchmarlo Golf Centre loyalty card was Angela Smith.

David Smart, CEO of Leys Estate Group, said: “Our first visit to Banchory Show as exhibitors was a great success. The tent was busy throughout the day with a variety of visitors, from the general public interested to find out more about a modern working estate to current tenants and neighbours who took the opportunity to meet members of the larger estate team and feedback on the work the estate does.

“We were also delighted to speak to people who used to live on the estate and had fond memories to share with us.  I would like to congratulate our competition winners and thank everyone who took the time to visit the stand.”
