Community Collaboration At Its Best

At the beginning of May, Deeside Rugby FC hosted its much-anticipated Mini and Micro Festival which welcomed more than 700 children from across the north-east. However, in the run up to the event the club was concerned about how hard the playing surfaces were as a result of the incredible dry and warm spell of weather.

When the club issued an urgent call for help to water the grounds, Leys Estate was delighted to assist by linking up with the incredible James Steel who farms on the Estate, who stepped up without hesitation.

Thanks to James’ generosity and commitment — making three separate trips over 24 hours to water the pitches — the tournament went ahead as planned, providing an unforgettable experience for all involved.

James said he was delighted to do what he could to support such an important event for the club. Leys Estate couldn’t be prouder to sponsor Deeside RFC and be part of a wider network that steps up when it matters.

A big thank you to James and congratulations to the club and all the young players on a successful event.
