Inchmarlo Golf Centre Turns Pink For Breast Cancer Now
A group of dedicated ladies at Inchmarlo Golf Centre have surpassed their fundraising target for Breast Cancer Now, raising an incredible £21,087 since 2021.
Members Susan Collie, Winnie Reid and Aileen Nicol have been fundraising for the charity over the past five years through a series of popular events, including pink-themed Texas Scramble competitions and coffee mornings.
The golf centre was transformed into a sea of pink on 20th October as the ladies hosted their latest fundraising coffee morning, attracting tremendous support from family, friends and the wider community from Banchory and beyond.
At times there was standing room only as guests enjoyed a spread of sweet and savoury treats donated by local supporters, alongside a fundraising raffle featuring prizes generously donated by individuals and businesses. The group also welcomed Louisa, a nurse from Aberdeen Royal Infirmary’s breast cancer ward.
The event raised £2,988, taking the group’s overall fundraising total to £21,087 and comfortably surpassing their original target.
The organisers said: “We have been overwhelmed by the generosity and support shown by so many people over the years. Reaching more than £21,000 for Breast Cancer Now is a fantastic achievement and one we’re incredibly proud of. We’d like to thank everyone who has attended our events, donated prizes, baked treats or contributed in any way.”
The group would like to extend their thanks to Great Scot, Findlaters, Best Wishes, Tesco Westhill, Tesco Banchory, Keith Nicol, Miller Plant and Inchmarlo Golf Centre members for their generous support and prize donations.
