Inchmarlo Golf Centre Turns Pink For Fundraising Event

A group of enthusiastic local golfers are celebrating after another successful fundraising event at Inchmarlo Golf Centre, Banchory.

The annual Wear It Pink Ladies’ Texas Scramble took place on Sunday, 10th May, bringing together 64 ladies from golf clubs across the north-east in support of Breast Cancer Now.

Through entry fees, sponsorship and a raffle, the event raised an impressive £2,050 for Breast Cancer Now, helping to fund vital research and support services.

Participants fully embraced the spirit of the day with colourful outfits, while enjoying a fun and friendly competition with players praising the relaxed atmosphere and strong sense of community.

Following the golf, participants gathered in the Members’ Lounge for refreshments including soup, sandwiches, cakes and coffee, generously prepared by the organisers and their team of volunteers.

The winning team on the day hailed from Banchory Golf Club, with Carole Dawson, Julie Henry, Janet Stapleton and Denise Dey taking top honours.

The success of the event was made possible thanks to the support of Inchmarlo Golf Centre, including manager Tom Comerford, along with volunteers who assisted throughout the day; from welcoming players on the course to running the raffle and providing catering support.

Local businesses also played a vital role by sponsoring holes and donating prizes, including The Pilates Hut, Taylors of Banchory, TaxAssist Banchory, Hughes McDonald Opticians, Findlaters Blacksmiths, Miller Plant, Deeside Photographic, Tesco Banchory and Duncan & Todd Opticians.

One of the organisers said: “We are so grateful to everyone who took part, volunteered or supported the event. It was a fantastic day, and we’re delighted to have raised such an amazing amount for a cause that means so much to so many.”
