Leys Estate Harnesses Five Year Partnership With Lochside Clydesdales

Beth Noble and David Smart announce Leys Estates sponsorship of Lochside Clydesdales

Leys Estate is proud to announce a five-year partnership with Lochside Clydesdales, a new venture founded by local horsewoman Beth Noble.

Based at Lochton of Leys Farm, Banchory, Lochside Clydesdales is the realisation of a lifelong dream for Beth, dedicated to protecting the future of the Clydesdale horse and preserving the tradition of carriage driving.

With support from Leys Estate, Beth has been able to purchase a driving cart. This key investment has helped Lochside Clydesdales launch a full programme of activities during a busy first summer season with her Clydesdale pair, Samson and Mae.

Set in the heart of Leys Estate, Beth’s new business offers visitors a unique opportunity to connect with her four Clydesdales through hands-on grooming sessions and one-to-one experiences under the careful supervision of her experienced team.

From carriage rides around the farm to special events and weddings, Lochside Clydesdales is already proving popular, with enquiries and bookings being taken into 2026. Beth has also partnered with the National Trust for Scotland to offer scenic carriage drives at Crathes Castle, the ancestral home of the Burnett of Leys family.

David Smart, Leys Estate Group CEO, said: “We are delighted to support Beth and Lochside Clydesdales as part of our ongoing commitment to fostering young entrepreneurs in the local area. Ventures like this not only preserve our cultural traditions but also enhance Deeside’s reputation as a growing destination for rural tourism.

“Lochside Clydesdales adds to the growing range of agritourism experiences drawing visitors to Deeside.”

Beth Noble, founder of Lochside Clydesdales, said: “The support from the Burnett family and Leys Estate has been vital in helping me establish Lochside Clydesdales. Being able to invest in my own cart and harness has allowed me to launch my full range of experiences this summer and share my love of these gentle giants with visitors from near and far.”

Beth runs her business alongside her mother, Grace Noble, at Lochton of Leys, where the family also manages Aberdeenshire Highland Beef. Visitors to the farm can enjoy tours, seasonal lambing experiences, and the opportunity to sample premium Highland Cattle beef, butchered and sold on-site in their farm shop.

Lochton of Leys sits at the heart of Leys Estate, adjacent to the historic Loch of Leys crannog —the site of the Burnett of Leys first Deeside residence dating back to 1323, before the construction of Crathes Castle.

Lochside Clydesdales is now open for bookings. For more information or to book an experience, follow Lochside Clydesdales on social media.
